My primary approach to mental health counseling is the person-centered approach. This means I believe that no one knows you better than you know yourself, and it is my job to help you identify goals, improve communication, strengthen self-esteem, and develop solutions and coping skills. During the counseling process, you are in the driver’s seat, I am just a GPS to help you on the road to better mental health. However, I’m not closed to other counseling approaches, If your mental health journey suggests another approach, I’m glad to incorporate that into your sessions. It’s my job to help you to deal with your issues in a safe, non-judgmental, affirming, and effective environment, regardless if that environment is in person or via telehealth. More than one in six adults is living with some sort of mental illness and there need be no stigma in seeking help.
