About My Clients

Most of my clients are struggling with eating disorders, body image issues, or trauma. You may have been told that your body is bad or wrong. You may struggle with regulating your emotions. You may have survived traumatic experiences. You may feel like it's impossible to respect your body or to find freedom from the overwhelming emotions you're experiencing – and I'm here to help you discover that it truly is possible. I also love working with creatives and performers.

My Background and Approach

My approach as a therapist is direct, holistic, individualized, trauma informed, and whole-person centered. I believe that trust and the strength of the therapeutic relationship are the most important factors for growth in therapy. I enjoy combining approaches that are more cognitive/behavioral (deal with our thoughts and behaviors) with approaches that are more somatic/embodied (deal with our bodies and go beyond just our brains) in order to foster the mind-body connection. I am trained in many therapeutic approaches and work collaboratively with my clients to figure out what the best approaches are for their unique struggles. I have specialized experience in working with clients struggling with eating disorders, trauma, sexual concerns, chronic illness, BPD, depression, and chronic suicidality. I am also a dancer and yoga teacher and incorporate therapeutic movement when appropriate/helpful. I have a lot of experience working with folks in the music industry and other public figures.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that as humans we are wired to grow and change – sometimes we just need some help in the process. I believe that all bodies are good bodies and that you can't tell if someone is healthy by looking at them or by a number on a scale. I believe that lived experience is powerful and gives knowledge that can't be learned in textbooks – my own struggles with mental health have led me to do this work. I believe in science. I believe Black Lives Matter. I am LGBTQIA+ affirming. I believe survivors. And I also believe corgis are the cutest dogs in existence – but I won't judge you if you don't agree :)
