About My Clients

My clients come from a variety of economic and cultural backgrounds, some with a history of complex PTSD. The majority of my career, I've worked in settings serving the LGBT+/SGM communities. For several years, I've attended Houston's Gender Infinity Conference increasing my awareness and resourcing. My goal is providing a secure, judgement free space for clients to reflect and express themselves while exploring self-generated psychological growth.

My Background and Approach

Actively listening to my clients forms the foundation for our clinical collaboration. Empowering clients by providing education ensures that beyond the therapeutic environment, clients maintain the capability to manage stress and implement effective coping skills. My practice entails customized treatment plans that help clients maximize the benefits of both pharmacological and nonpharmacological support. I graduated from the University of Miami with two Bachelors' of Science in Psychology and Nursing. I returned to Houston to start work in oncology then onto community-based care as a high school nurse and later in our county HIV clinic. Prior to returning for my Master's, I segued between public and private psychiatric hospitals. As a NP, I spent the initial five years of my career serving rural and suburban residents through a federally qualified healthcare center. Now, I work in a space offering interventional treatments such as Ketamine-Assisted Psychotherapy and TMS.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

As the physicist Richard Feynman states, "Keep an open mind, but not so open that your brain falls out". I believe transparency between the layers of the self immensely impacts our ability to become self-aware. Shining light into the eerie corners of our emotional closets is not always easy or feasible without support. Transpersonal exploration, accessing our own internal pearls of wisdom, is important to heal and release generational trauma. The fast-paced nature advancing contemporary society generates a profound sense of disconnection from the emotional needs of ourselves and our community. Cultivating a sense of personal well-being is a dynamic process conditioning our capability to regulate our response to stressors- internal and external. Change begins within, but often we are too overwhelmed to know where to start. If you are here, reading this now, you have already started.
