About My Clients
Everyone else seems to have it together. Work, family, friends, hiking, live music, cooking, reading, downtown events…How do they manage to DO all of that? Sometimes it just seems like a struggle to get through the day and it never seems like there is enough time. The “To Do” list is ten miles long and you always feel you are falling short. You feel stressed, anxious, and irritable. This isn’t how you WANT to be- you just can’t seem to get out of your head no matter what you have tried.
My Background and Approach
In our culture, we often talk about "doing the work", but what exactly does that mean? Therapy is a unique, totally private relationship with another human that helps us figure shit out. (Another human who also just happens to be trained in mental health and geeks out on authentic connection) Therapy is a space in which you get to examine what IS working in your life and what is NOT. It addresses the barriers that are holding us back from living our best life. This can be unconscious beliefs, trauma reactions, blurry boundaries, or something else unique to you. As we explore your situation, I listen for patterns- for the pathways we can look at to help make sense of it all. I blend humor, intuition, life experience, and clinical expertise to provide feedback and support. I use a holistic approach, which means, I consider all the things that shape our human experience: our bodies, minds, and feelings, our sexuality, our generational histories, the culture, and spirituality.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
We are so much more than just our minds, feelings, and bodies. I am both a mental health counselor and a certified Reiki Master Teacher. I offer an integrative blend of insight-oriented therapy and energy psychology to uncover, release, and integrate all that is no longer part of our desired life. I aim to walk straight into the fire and challenge all that keeps us from expressing our authentic inner magic. I have a deep passion for Disaster Mental Health and engage in annual deployments to disaster-stricken areas to offer stabilization and support. Offering Reiki, I serve both the veteran community and the recovery community through volunteer service.
