About My Clients
My clients would likely describe my therapeutic style as direct, compassionate, relational with a sense of humor, and collaborative. I often describe my role in the therapeutic relationship as “applying gentle pressure relentlessly.” I believe that individuals have the power to build their best life and I aim to help my clients step into this power.
My Background and Approach
My approach to counseling is collaborative, which means that we will work together to identify goals or changes you want for yourself and develop ways to implement these changes in order to reach your goals. As a part of this process, we will work together to understand what contributes to the problems in your life and what gets in the way of the change you want for yourself. While we will focus on the changes that you want to make for yourself, we will balance this change with mindfulness and self-compassion. I founded Healgood because I believe in taking a holistic approach to counseling that considers biological, psychological, environmental, and socio-cultural aspects of clients' lives. I think client’s are the experts of their own lives and lived experiences. As part of this holistic approach, I work collaboratively with other health professionals such as psychiatrists and dietitians.
