About My Clients
Therapy is an investment in your personal growth and well-being. I support clients in developing positive coping skills, examining patterns, and learning how to set healthy boundaries. Clients often come to me with issues related to difficult childhoods, personal growth, and relationships. I work with both youth and adults and have experience addressing symptoms related to anxiety, depression, attachment issues, burnout, ADHD and trauma.
My Background and Approach
A strong therapeutic relationship built on trust and safety, is the greatest predictor of success in therapy and the basis of my therapeutic approach. Using techniques from Narrative Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, and EMDR, I help individuals expand their repertoire of coping skills and find grounding within their personal values. I challenge clients to recognize limiting internalized narratives and make possible changes that can support their mental health and well-being for the short-term and long- term.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Anxiety, trauma, and depression can tell us that our life choices are narrow, but once we start to expand our ideas of who we are, we can find possibilities for our lives we would have never imagined before. Having a safe space to share, be heard, and develop insight can lead to more groundedness and clarity. As a member of the LGBTQ community I know how important it can be to work with someone who shares you identity and is knowledgable about how systems of oppression impact one's mental health . As a white therapist, I am committed to practicing self-awareness, cultural humility, and upholding values of activism and resistance within my practice in order to better serve BIPOC individuals and transform the harm done by white supremacy within the mental health field and our larger community.
