About My Clients
My clients are often people who've done work on themselves — therapy, meditation, self-reflection — and still feel something hasn't moved. Something old still runs the show. They're successful, capable, often well-regarded. And underneath, there's a pattern they can't seem to get past. Many carry what's now recognized as childhood trauma or cPTSD — not always dramatic, often quiet: the family that was hard to grow up in, the needs that went unmet, the self that learned to manage rather than live
My Background and Approach
I'm a psychoanalyst and psychotherapist with over twenty years in clinical practice. My training spans Columbia, Harvard, Boston College, and the Massachusetts Institute for Psychoanalysis — and I've spent just as long studying the mind through Buddhist and contemplative traditions, including thirty years of practice and study in Tibetan Buddhism. My approach is rooted in the psychoanalytic tradition — work that goes underneath presenting problems to the structures that keep producing them. I'm interested in what's actually happening, not what's comfortable to look at. Contemplative practice has shaped how I understand attention, suffering, and what real change requires. What I offer is depth, time, and genuine accompaniment. Slow work, sometimes. But the kind that lasts — because it reaches what shorter approaches don't. I work with adults in person in Northampton, MA and via telehealth in MA and CT, with NY coming soon.
