About My Clients
It is a bit difficult to say there is an "ideal client." An ideal client, in my own terms, is someone or some family who finds that I am the right fit for providing the support they need. I am always open and eager to welcome clients of all cultural and ethnic backgrounds, sexual identities and orientations, life stages, and ages. I often learn and am inspired by my clients. Generally, the clients who have sought me out are immigrants, first-generation or children of immigrants.
My Background and Approach
I specialize in intergenerational trauma and cross-cultural identities. I help clients strengthen individual identity and self-confidence from families with multicultural backgrounds. I validate and celebrate all parts of cultural identities, and support you in building a balance that is authentic. I use scientifically proven techniques to make changes. Change can be stressful even positive, however, it is also a wonderful self-growth process to create version of ourselves we can be proud of. Therapy is a process of reconnecting with yourself. It empowers you to feel more alive, positive, and aware. Change can involve the present, past or future. I use EMDR, Brainspotting and IFS to heal past wounds, and CBT for irrational thoughts. I apply psychodynamic & existential approaches for long term growth. For couples, I use EFT & Gottman’s Methods to improve communication & intimacy, and for families, System & Structural methods to highlight patterns.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Life is not easy, yet beautiful. The only control we have is choosing how to react to the ups and downs of life. Seeking support takes courage, I admire that in each client whom I connect with. I personally have experienced the challenges and richness of living with both cultural values. Nurturing my individual identity has been a fulfilling journey.
