About My Clients
You're in pain and don't know what to do. You put on a brave face but underneath you're confused, stressed out, overwhelmed and just plain worn out. You are not alone! We have all experienced times when something terrible happens to us. It's difficult to ask for help but it is a sign of courage to reach out to someone that can guide you through the emotional minefield. Therapy can help you work through your feelings and past hurts and finally heal those open wounds.
My Background and Approach
Most of my experience is helping clients with trauma, grief and loss, and addiction. I earned my Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University and am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and a Certified Master's Level Addictions Professional. I am also an advanced trained Accelerated Resolution Therapy practitioner which is a trauma therapy that has remarkably effective and quick results. My goal is to create an environment that is relaxed and safe so you can feel comfortable talking openly. I strive to develop strong, positive relationships with my clients where I can be supportive, yet also challenging at times, to promote your healing. Therapy is about teamwork and we will work together to identify and change the thought and behavior patterns that are keeping you stuck!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I offer my clients an authentic, direct style with warmth and, at times, a dose of humor. I believe when we are able to laugh, our heart opens and we connect with ourselves and others at a deeper level. Tragedy is awful but it can become the motivational force for you to develop a clearer sense of your identity and values. I am here to guide and support you to keep you on the path to healing. Being in pain is difficult but staying stuck in that pain is torture. I make sure everyone I work with learns how to take better care of themselves, learns to get their needs met and discovers meaning from the senseless things that happened to them. I believe we all have our own answers deep within us; sometimes we just need some help discovering them. I believe people can accomplish most anything with commitment and with the right guidance.
