About My Clients
I work with clients that are dealing with such challenges as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and adjustment disorders. I support my clients during various life transitions, dealing with work/school stressors, parenting challenges, or building healthy self esteem. With my women clients I work with them around pregnancy and/or postpartum challenges. I also provide support around sports performance and challenges. With my child and adolescent clients I can utilize play and art therapy.
My Background and Approach
In my sessions I like to use a combination of techniques that would benefit a client's individual needs. I incorporate play/art therapy with my children and adolescent clients. I also incorporate CBT, mindfulness skills, and ACT with my clients. I try to meet my clients where they are at and make them feel comfortable in making their changes to get where they would like to be. We will sometimes discuss past events and how they may relate to present challenges. I utilize talk therapy, incorporate workbooks or worksheets as necessary (to a client's preference), and help my client set attainable goals. I also encourage honesty in my sessions and will frequently check in with clients to assess how they feel their therapy is going, and am open to adjusting techniques as appropriate to further support my clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
Life is full of changes and stressors, and reaching out to a therapist can be beneficial to most, regardless of age. Whether it is starting a new school, having a baby, or losing a loved one, there are ways to cope and get through it. Life will always throw something your way, and having the tools to get through makes our lives that much more rewarding.
