About My Clients
I am passionate about all the ways sexuality, gender, culture, relationships, and systems influence one another. I recognize that individuals with marginalized social identities experience unique health disparities and I strive to recognize and respect everyone’s specific needs. I integrate multiple therapeutic models to fit clients’ needs—exploring the significant relationships in their lives and emphasizing the role that their individual strengths play in achieving their goals.
My Background and Approach
I completed my Ph.D. in Couple and Family Therapy from the University of Iowa and received my master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy from the Family Institute at Northwestern University. I am an AAMFT-approved supervisor with a certificate in college teaching from the University of Iowa. I also balance my clinical approach with empathy and humor to make my clients feel comfortable as they explore new perspectives on their lives.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am an active member of the LGBTQIA+ community and continue to practice and participate in anti racist and Black Lives Matter trainings.
