About My Clients
My clients present with a variety of needs, from relationship counseling to support and advocacy in the court system. I treat symptoms of depression, anxiety, Bipolar disorder and OCD. I have experience with children struggling in the academic environment or coping with divorce, as well as adults managing employment or family stressors. My clients have all benefitted from the value of the therapeutic relationship established in the process of counseling.
My Background and Approach
My background is primarily in behavioral health for children and adolescents. I worked in the public school system as a Special Education teacher prior to becoming a social worker, at that point which I worked with children with severe behavioral challenges in a hospital setting. Since that time, I have grown my practice serving women and men with individual issues of anxiety and mood disorders. A unique approach in my practice is the Walk Therapy I provide on a nearby nature trail, introducing some EMDR techniques to the cognitive therapy I provide.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I often come from a Christian perspective, if appropriate, with my clientele. Always from a strengths and solution focused perspective, however, as I believe every individual has skills, strength, and value in this world that can help them overcome struggles and achieve goals.
