Relationships can be blissful & they can be quite challenging. They can be both simultaneously at times as well. We are not taught how to have successful relationships & we come into them with our own unique beliefs & expectations of how not only the relationship should be but how each partner should be in the relationship. When the limerence stage fades & real life brings us back into reality the challenges begin. Couple's therapy has much to offer in our efforts to successfully connect.

Individuals have their own unique values, beliefs, perceptions and emotional responses to their environment and the people within it. When these are shattered, when our reality is turned upside down by something that blindsides us, our life as we knew it to be is gone. Our response to this can alter our way of thinking and behaving that can be understood as PTSD. Having an understanding of what is being experienced and how to navigate it, process, & heal can be of great benefit.

As we collaborate utilizing Gottman Method Couples Therapy you will learn how to disarm conflicting verbal communication; increase intimacy, respect, and affection; strengthen your friendship and bond; remove barriers that create a feeling of stagnancy; and create a heightened sense of empathy and understanding for your partner and yourself. You will work together to create a Sound Relationship House where friendship is the foundation & trust & commitment the strong walls that support it.

My is intention is to create an atmosphere where you both feel welcomed & comfortable to share, knowing I am impartial & nonjudgmental. My focus is on the success of the relationship & to allow you both to paint me a picture of what your successful relationship looks like. I will listen & stay curious while inviting you to do the same with your partner. Together you will learn relational skills, connect & strengthen your bond while feeling seen & heard & truly seeing & hearing your partner.

CBT is utilized to identify and change destructive or disturbing thought patterns that negatively impact a person's behavior and emotions. CBT therapy focuses on changing negative thoughts & non-serving beliefs that contribute to emotional difficulties, undesirable behaviors, depression, and anxiety. Through CBT, these thoughts are identified, challenged, and replaced with more objective, serving, healthier & realistic thoughts.
