About My Clients
I am an active therapist and tend to work best with clients who want both supportive and gently challenging feedback. I welcome feedback from you too! I enjoy and have a very broad range of experience working with people from all backgrounds and experiences. Some areas of specialization include: PTSD and CPTSD, queer and trans experiences, autism and ADHD (neurodiversity), health professional students and health providers, impact of immigration experiences, Internal Family Systems therapy.
My Background and Approach
Our approach in therapy will depend on what works for you. That said, there are a few approaches that I find to be particularly useful. I draw on Internal Family Systems to help people with the internal emotional conflicts that keep them stuck in painful patterns and emotions that they just can't shake. It inspires me to see how often my clients are able to discover that, with a little help, they can find the resources within themselves to change and move forward. I have training in working with trauma and I pay a lot of attention to the body and sensory experience, which is often where trauma gets stuck. I also pay close attention to how identity, culture, power dynamics, and larger systems impact the client, the therapist, and the therapeutic environment. This is important in order to create a safe, healing space, but also to find joy and draw power from who you are and where you come from.
