About My Clients

I’m here to help you embrace your strengths, problem solve, heal, & feel less in conflict with yourself & others! Things my clients like to work on: Finding your strengths & how to build on those to achieve goals. Balancing rational thinking & emotional thinking. Finding your version of self-advocacy - in school, work, family, etc. Sitting with uncomfortable feelings when we want to do the opposite.

My Background and Approach

I utilize a combination of CBT, Solution focused, strengths based, motivational interviewing, and relational cultural therapy. My catchphrase for how I work is, “a little bit of logic, a little bit of love, and a lot of bit of finding the happy medium.” We need both and the challenge is find ways to balance rational thinking and emotional thinking. However, at the end of day it is your mind and body - which makes you the best expert on yourself. I’m here to help you embrace your strengths, find new ways of thinking about and doing things, heal, and feel more connected to yourself and to others.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

All aspects of your identity are important in therapy work, which means that I invite you to bring them into our work together. "Self-advocacy," for example, looks different in a collectivist culture or a, "found family," for someone who is LGBTQIA+ can be just as significant as our family we grew up with. I am aware that therapy has not always been or perceived as safe, culturally sensitive, or appropriate for all. It's part of why I joined this profession. Both to show that therapy can be all of those things, and because we need more therapists from diverse backgrounds. At my core I am a systemic therapist; which means that I view your environment as whole: work, school, loved ones, friends, etc. All of those things significantly shape and impact our world. We define ourselves in many different relationships: parent, child, worker, etc. Therapy should embrace that.
