About My Clients

Dear Young Adult: Ever since that awful event, do you hate being touched by your partner? Do you feel misunderstood and you’re worried that your partner is starting to resent you? Have you felt distant or disconnected because you can’t get disturbing images out of your head? You must be exhausted. Therapy can help you overcome the overwhelming emotions holding you back so that you can get unstuck and experience life more fully.

My Background and Approach

I have a background in individual, family, and group therapy. I received my Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Lesley University with a specialization in trauma studies, and I received my Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Amherst College. I have experience at nearly every point along the spectrum of mental health treatment in Massachusetts. I began my career working in community agencies, families' homes, residential placements, and crisis programs. Most of this work was with adolescents and young adults experiencing suicidal thoughts or overwhelming events.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Life can be like a river. People often reach out once they've fallen in and need some help getting out. Helping people out of the river is fulfilling and important work. That's a big reason why I became a therapist. At the same time, I think our current mental health system fails to help people avoid falling back in or prevent others from falling in at all. That's why I started my private practice- to support health and wellness no matter where people are in relationship to the river. I support organizations that fight for equitable treatment for everyone, especially on behalf of people who have been historically and systematically marginalized. I work hard to examine my worldview critically, and I welcome others highlighting my blindspots. Politically I tend to lean toward the progressive left; however, if you don't, I won't judge you. I promise. I played professional basketball in Germany and I still love playing. I'm a husband and a father. I also have two cats, Itsy and Winston.
