About My Clients
Many of my clients are examining their gender identity and sexuality. Several are overwhelmed with their thoughts and feelings and have feelings of isolation. Therapy allows them space to explore these thoughts and feelings to gain confidence and acceptance of their true selves.
My Background and Approach
It can be a challenge to figure out who you are, especially when family, friends, and society at large tells you how to live your life. I give clients a space to explore themselves and discover ways to move closer to their ideal self. I view the therapeutic relationship as a collaborative effort in order to help the client achieve their goals. I believe that when a person has access to a non-judgmental environment, they can discuss the difficult challenges in their life. Seeking counseling can be a scary process. Before I became a counselor, I received therapy to help me through my gender transition. It was difficult and scary, but so rewarding. It helped me so much that I wished to help others through the process.
