About My Clients

I enjoy joining with clients to find ways that they can live the life they deserve. I am passionate about serving parents at all stages of the parenting journey, especially parents with postpartum depression or anxiety. As an autism parent I also enjoy working with parents of kids with different needs like autism. I serve people with autism who have co-occurring mental health conditions. I enjoy working with adolescents and older children to help them increase their coping skills and anxiety

My Background and Approach

I have 20 years of experience as a social worker. I have training in evidence based approaches like Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Seeking Safety, Motivational Interviewing, Zones of Regulation and Gottman Approach for relationship therapy. I believe every client is unique and I utilize the techniques that will best help each client build on their strengths and achieve the quality of life they deserve. I have special training in autism and the co-occurence of autism and mental illnesses. I have served in management roles and am a licensure supervisor for social workers. This experience helps me to assist people in leadership roles to manage their stressors so they can be as high achieving as they desire.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that all people have the ability to change and that everyone deserves the chance to live their best life. I became a social worker to help people build on their strengths. I have dedicated most of my career to serving people who are underserved such as people with severe mental illnesses, juveniles and adults with legal problems, and people with developmental disabilities. In the last few years I have been especially passionate about supporting women and women's mental health issues that occur after having a baby. I helped develop and co-facilitate a support group for parents with postpartum depression/anxiety. I am active in Mothers of Preschoolers as a member of their leadership team as I believe all moms deserve a tribe of women supporting them because parenting is hard.
