About My Clients
I enjoy working with adults of all ages, with focus areas including anxiety, trauma, grief/loss, life transitions, personal growth, relationships, and interpersonal communication. In our sessions together, I will help you tune into inner wisdom, recognize your strengths, increase your capacity to cope with challenges in ways that feel in line with those strengths, gain clarity in areas where you’ve felt confused or stuck, consider new perspectives, and feel more connected to yourself and others.
My Background and Approach
My approach to therapy is grounded in trust, safety, respect, compassion, empathy, and integrity. My therapeutic style is person-centered, humanistic, relational, trauma-focused, strength-based, attachment-based, and grounded in mindfulness and awareness of the body. I often use psycho-education in my sessions to help clients gain insight and new perspectives on their symptoms, concerns, and challenges. I have training and experience in grief counseling and working with trauma, as well as neuroscience, mindfulness, and somatic/body-based approaches to therapy (including Sensorimotor Psychotherapy and Hakomi Mindful Somatic Psychotherapy). The body holds key insights into how patterns of thoughts, emotions, and beliefs develop and are stored. It also reveals how we experience and navigate the world. As your therapist, my goal is to guide you through a process of mindful self-exploration, aiming to enhance your embodied self-awareness and help you develop trust in your body's wisdom.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I have long been an LGBTQ+ ally and aim to create a safe, affirming, welcoming space for all clients, particularly clients who move through the world holding marginalized identities. I identify as Buddhist and have maintained a daily meditation practice for the past ten years. Mindfulness, self-awareness, and compassion for myself and others are core values and practices that deeply impact me, both personally and professionally.
