I am a licensed psychologist who practices out of Oakland, CA. I identify as a social-justice oriented, strength-based, Black psychologist.
Clinical Psychologist in Oakland, CA
I have extensive experience working with individuals experiencing various levels of stress in the workplace. I have provided on-site therapy in high-stress corporate/tech environments and provided support to clients at working within gig-work contexts, part-time employment, salaried/managment positions, as well as individuals working at the C-Suite level.
I believe that it is impossible to understand clients outside of their lived experience and outside of the context of societal systems. We are shaped by our cultural heritage and experience privilege or oppression based on the intersections of our identities.
I integrate a deep understanding of racial identity development into my work as a therapist. I find it vital to work dealing with coping with racism and societal oppression, whether at the microaggressive level, dealing with imposter feelings, or contending with overt or structural racism. Understanding how encounters with racism affect our sense of self, and our reactions as we work toward healing the related trauma helps clients to normalize their personal experience.
