I am an inclusive therapist that focuses on trauma work. I have spent my career working with emerging adults and adults.
Counselor in Northport, AL
I have worked with people going through many stages of life transitions. The focus areas that I work the most in is with college students transitioning to be more independent, the transition from emerging adulthood to full independence, and those that are transitioning through major changes in their life. Examples may include break ups, loss of friendship, or transitioning in boundaries in family unit. I also work with the LGBTQIA+ community to limit gatekeeping.
I have spent time as an advocate for those receiving forensic exams, making me aware of many steps in the health and legal process, as well as specialized knowledge in the stages of trauma that happen after sexual assault. I also have worked with many adults as they find freedom and regain power in their life after childhood sexual abuse.
I have worked with those in need of mind body connection after trauma, as well as organizing memories and working to find resolution. I use a variety of trauma informed interventions, based on client needs. This includes narrative therapy, psychodynamic, EMDR, and mind/body connection.
I have worked in the trauma field for over four years, specializing in work around sexual abuse, sexual violence, domestic violence, and adult survivors of childhood abuse. I work with those that also experience trauma within the family unit, including emotional and psychological abuse or neglect.
