About My Clients
Are you tired of feeling tired? Do you find yourself constantly putting yourself down? Do you feel you let others constantly push boundaries and struggle to advocate for yourself? Maybe you’re a parent who feels they are out of options and feel you don’t know how to help your child. There are interventions and tools that can help with all of these things. I’ll help you explore to make sense of what you are experiencing and provide tools to help you (and/or your child) work through them.
My Background and Approach
A little work history: I have a history of working with teens in residential, children as young as 5 and up in outpatient, elementary and middle schoolers in the school environment, children and adults in in-home services. I work a lot with mood disorders, self esteem struggles, life transitions, and with the LGBTQ+ community. I have been trained in TF-CBT, which is an evidence-based treatment for ages 3-18 who have experienced trauma and includes the parents/support person in treatment. I have a talked with schools and students about mental health. I use an eclectic use of CBT, ACT and person centered in my therapy. I use play with kids (and with adults if they find it helpful). I also use creative tools in sessions for those that like may struggle to express themselves or for those who enjoy being creative. Examples of this are clay, coloring, drawing, writing, creating a comic strip, etc.
