About My Clients
I help individuals move forward when they feel “stuck” by blending Existential Therapy with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). This approach prioritizes mindfulness and values-based action to help clients build a more intentional life. My background includes extensive experience supporting domestic violence survivors, individuals with disabilities, families, and university students.
My Background and Approach
My therapy philosophy is based in existentialism, which is a lens that focuses on personal freedom, living authentically, and crafting meaning for ourselves. Often, I’ll pair existentialism with Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), which encourages freedom of choice through increased mindfulness and self-awareness of our own values. That said, I try to be holistic in my approach, as humans are dynamic and wonderfully complicated. Wellness is not a box we can cram ourselves into; it is a discovery process that is lifelong and unique to all of us. I integrate Existential Therapy and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) into my work because both approaches help clients better understand themselves and create a life that feels meaningful and authentic. While Existential Therapy explores the deeper questions that shape our experiences, including meaning, purpose, identity, and the choices we make - ACT helps clients build a healthier relationship with their thoughts and emotions.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am very passionate about working with the LGBTQ+ community, neurodiverse people, and people with disabilities. I am deeply affirming and close to all these communities. I take a companioning approach to therapy. While I prioritize being clinically sharp and well-educated, relational healing is the most powerful thing we have in the therapy room. My goal is not to be the expert that tells you what to do, but instead the professional who is capable of walking with you and offering you perspective as you change your own life.
