My Background and Approach
What I believe: Relationships are unique and come in countless shapes and sizes over time. Right now, relationships are already happening and changing in your life every day. Love is available in ourselves when we choose it, and choosing love in ourselves brings more love into our relationships. Yes, all relationships shift and change, and at the same time, love can regenerate again and again in the most mysterious moments and forms if we stay open and curious. For these reasons, relationships are also a collaborative art and practice. Love, intimacy, and sexual freedom are individual human rights. Bringing these elements together in our lives can sometimes be challenging. While I am skilled at facilitating the power community offers in bolstering our romantic partnerships, I am equally committed to your individual liberation.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
How I work: I bring a range of modalities, philosophies, and life experiences to bear in my work as a psychotherapist. We may do art together, drama therapy, meditation, or imaginative play. Or, we may sit and talk. Just as relationships come in countless shapes and sizes, my counseling relationships are varied and change over time to meet the needs of my clients. Today, I see that my journey in counseling began when I was a young person. For social and cultural reasons, I was thrust into a role of supporting my close family through high-conflict challenges, helping my loved ones to lessen their suffering in their relationships. Though I had no idea at the time that I had already begun my life's right work as a counselor, I did know that I was loving people the best way I knew how. This role taught me at a young age that I have a deep and wise knowing about how to stick with love.
