About My Clients
I work with children, adults, and families using a holistic approach centered on mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) to treat depression, anxiety, ADHD, life stressors, and trauma. In combination with traditional talk therapy, these tools focus on using mind/body techniques to increase physical and emotional wellness and teach skills to lessen negative thinking and behaviors. I also specialize in work with children's emotional and behavioral issues at home and school.
My Background and Approach
Welcome! I work with children, adolescents, adults, and families, with a specialty in childhood trauma, depression, anxiety, and behavioral challenges. I work with parents/caregivers and children together to create an individualized treatment plan that supports each member while healing the family as a whole. I have training and experience in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) and am nationally certified in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy. I am certified in Positive Discipline therapy and integrate parent/caregiver coaching into my work with children. I believe a healthy body leads to a healthy mind, and utilize a holistic approach by incorporating mindfulness and positive lifestyle modification into treatment.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I serve on the Board of the California Association for Marriage and Family Therapists (CAMFT) San Diego, and volunteer as a Court-Appointed Special Advocate with foster youth. When not with clients, I love cooking, yoga, and reading books on the couch with my best cat friend, Henry.
