My Background and Approach
I Counsel, Teach, Consult & offer Clinical Supervision. With more than 13 years of clinical experience, I specialize in trauma, anxiety, & life transitions. The interventions I teach are practice tools to help interrupt panic, anxiety, and automatic trigger responses. When appropriate, I implement creative interventions to help clients that may have difficulty in talking about experiences but can benefit from art interventions (process not product oriented). I believe in being real, while offering a safe place to process overwhelming or tough stuff. I use humor when appropriate. I teach practical coping tools. I believe in a direct no-nonsense approach while using curiosity to promote self-compassion and self-understanding. You'll build confidence in your ability to use these tools with practice and understanding how they work effectively. I am also a Licensed Addiction Counselor and support individuals in family trying to understand loved ones or self when it come to addiction.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that people do well if they can and when they are not doing well there is something getting in the way. I explore with clients what that something might be and work toward teaching practical tools to support their needs. I believe that clients know more about themselves and strive to get to know you and understand your learning style to match how I work with you in a way that resonates and supports you.
