About My Clients

I often support my clients with: -Healing from Anxiety, Depression & Panic -Finding joy and reducing overwhelm as a Highly Sensitive Person (HSP) -Rediscovering their identity outside of parenthood or career -Managing work/life balance -Releasing societal and self-imposed expectations around body image, parenting, and “doing it all.” -Staying grounded - and thriving - through life transitions, including: pregnancy/postpartum, career change, relationship changes, sexuality, spirituality, etc.

My Background and Approach

Bottom line is, I am a holistic therapist! I utilize a variety of evidence-based approaches to therapy to support clients in the way that they are best supported. Each client is unique, and I always start our therapy journey together with a conversation about how I can best support you, including listening to any previous experiences in therapy and taking time to build comfort and trust in our therapeutic relationship. I commonly draw from: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy - Reframing negative or unhelpful thoughts and feelings Solution-Focused Therapy - When helpful, supporting you in taking the next step forward Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT)/Mindfulness - Building self-compassion and ability to manage difficult emotions Ecotherapeutic Approaches - Helping you connect with nature and the world around you Feminist Perspective - For female-identifying clients, recognizing the role of societal pressures and structures in the mental health challenges faced by many women

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I’m Amy Lajiness, LCSW, PMH-C, and I’m an ecotherapist and psychotherapist practicing in San Diego. As a human and a therapist, I highly value authenticity, humor, and compassion for self and others. I affirm and ally myself with all marginalized people, including the BIPOC and LGBTQ+ communities. I am committed to equity and justice for all people, and as part of this commitment, I volunteer my time and expertise to supporting young immigrants as a member of the Mental Health Connection team at Immigrants Rising. I believe that mental health, spiritual health, ecological health, physical health, and community health intersect, and organize therapy around this belief. I specialize in working with women of all ages, and hold a certification in Perinatal Mental Health to provide specialized support to individuals in the pregnancy and postpartum periods. I have also completed specialized training working with those who are Highly Sensitive Persons (HSPs).
