About My Clients
My clients often present with symptoms of depression, anxiety, chronic pain and/or illness, as well as difficulty regulating their emotions. Because our minds and bodies are so closely connected, my clients find great benefits in learning to regulate heightened emotions and releasing body tension through a variety of techniques that include cognitive behavioral therapy, mindfulness, ecotherapy, and psychosomatic exercises.
My Background and Approach
Over the last 20 years, I have worked extensively in a variety of healthcare settings including long-term care, hospice, and an acute care hospital setting. Working in a variety of healthcare settings has provided me with a unique lens into the many needs and adversities that individuals encounter in the US healthcare system. I have witnessed firsthand the power of the mind-body connection, and because of this connection I believe in a holistic path to healing; a path where the mind, body and spirit is embraced in the work that we will do together. I primarily use a combination of mindfulness, cognitive behavioral therapy, and somatic approaches.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that the ability to heal oneself lies within all of us; the therapist is a guide and the client is the driver. I recognize that each individual’s needs and experiences are unique to that person, and thus each individual's healing journey looks different. I also believe in a holistic path to healing, and have found that nature and ecotherapy can be an incredible tool to incorporate into psychotherapy.
