About My Clients
Do you find it difficult to open up verbally? Are you looking for a way to develop deeper relationships with your self and others? Music is powerful in the way that it helps us to understand ourselves and others without having to say a word. I work with individuals, couples, families, and groups in Middle Tennessee and virtually. I specialize in fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, and early childhood, as well as adolescent and adult mental health.
My Background and Approach
I'm a Board-Certified Music Therapist, which means I use music to help you address your therapeutic goals. This may look like singing or moving to music for bonding, writing a song to express your thoughts or feelings, listening to a song that expresses exactly what you're going through, or learning breathing techniques to help with relaxation. You don't need musical experience to be a part of music therapy!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that we are all musical and creative beings. However, all too often we are taught to shut out that creative, playful side of ourselves. If we give ourselves the opportunity to foster our innate sense of creativity and play, we can learn more about our authentic self, feel empowered to share our stories, and create deeper, more meaningful connections. I take an integrative approach to therapy to make sure I am adapting to meet your needs in the moment. I also believe in creating a therapeutic space that is empowering, safe, inclusive, and collaborative.
