About My Clients

I love to work with all ages, and believe that everyone is capable of change and self advocacy. I have been working with children and families for six years and have helped them work through issues related to ADHD, ASD, trauma, LGBTQIA identity, substance use, depression, anxiety, and more. These can be severe situations where families feel they have tried everything, or dealing with family transitions and needing guidance.

My Background and Approach

I have a Masters degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. During my undergraduate I worked under Dr. King at Western Washington University in the multicultural psychology research. I spent five years working with children and families in our community, providing behavioral rehabilitation services. During my clinical practicum I had the joy of providing equine therapy to youth and adults. My clinical therapeutic approach is person-centered, adlerian, and humanistic. I work with a range of issues including trauma, ADHD, depression, anxiety, eating disorders, and major life transitions. I have enjoyed working in a variety of settings, including home based behavioral support for families and nature therapy. I meet every client with the same compassion and go into our therapeutic relationship with the same four goals: Being your ally Providing unconditional positive regard Helping you take action Empowering your autonomy

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I am passionate about my work, about building authentic relationships, and enjoy doing so using humor and optimism. I strive to find ways to make things joyful. I find my work tied to how the world is doing, and people are struggling right now. It is important to be able to sit in the negative feelings-they are information. I believe there is so much strength in finding community and standing up for our neighbors. Dismantling the harmful systems of oppression that every individual faces and working on my own cultural competencies are central to my work. My own journey through grief, identity, and mental health introduced me to the world of self-compassion and immense compassion for others. Joining you on your own journey is an honor and commitment I take to heart.
