About My Clients

Our environment influences how we see ourselves in the world; it shapes our internal narratives and our relationship with ourselves and others. I seek to help individuals who may be working on healing from radicalized trauma and various forms internalized oppression in order to become the person they were meant to be. Understanding our own history and connection to our ancestors helps us to understand who we are today and helps us heal our Soul.

My Background and Approach

I provide trauma-informed counseling in English and Spanish, I'm guided by the principles of social work, and I'm grounded in critical theory. My therapeutic style is warm, friendly, and interpersonal while still maintaining appropriate boundaries. I have a person centered approach and will meet people where they are at, for example, some clients ask for homework while others can't even entertain the idea of adding one more thing to their to do list, so we'll do activities during the session. I offer an eclectic approach to therapy tailored to your goals and your unique experience. Some of the modalities I use are Internal Family Systems, Mindfulness, Narrative therapy, and EMDR. I have experience and training to counsel patients regarding relationships, grief, depression, anxiety, trauma recovery (including intergenerational and racial trauma), immigration related grief, and experience healing internalized oppression.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I approach my clients from a place of humility and curiosity and believe that we all have the capacity to heal, grow, and become the person we were meant to be. As an immigrant, woman of color I have had to heal from internalized oppression. It can be difficult to find a BIPoC therapist to work with. I hope that I can be a support for individuals seeking someone who understands what it is like to be othered because of how you look or your place of origin.
