About My Clients
Do you often feel weighed down by feelings of depression, anxiety, or overthinking? If you find it challenging to advocate for yourself, come talk to me! Whether you’re seeking help for the above, or topics such as LGBTQ+ issues, lack of direction, career issues, or something else entirely, I want to help! Together, we will work on strategies that will allow you to address the root cause of said difficulty and build meaningful connections and confidence.
My Background and Approach
I have been working in the counseling field for over five years and have truly found my passion in it. Raised on the east coast, I attended school in New York, receiving my bachelor’s degree in psychology from Elmira College. From there I headed to New Orleans and attended Louisiana State University (LSU, Geaux Tigers!) where I received my master’s degree in clinical rehabilitation and counseling. I worked within the parole and probation system, the school system, and the medical field. Currently, my work involves aiding and empowering Texans with disabilities (from Amputations to Deafness) to obtain, maintain, and elevate their employment. All skills I hope to share with you!
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
What I love about the therapeutic process are the subtle, positive changes that occur. Be it a brighter shirt in your next session, a friendlier smile, a feeling of excitement knowing we will be meeting that day, or a more positive outlook on an otherwise unfriendly topic. My approaches to counseling are entrenched in motivational interviewing, cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), gestalt therapy, and solution-focused therapy. It is with these tools, and our connection, that we will create a plan for meaningful change.
