About My Clients

I work with adults and couples who hold everything together on the outside but feel quietly exhausted inside. You might be facing anxiety, perfectionism, stress, or a big life transition. Maybe the same patterns keep showing up in your relationships, and you can trace them to the family you grew up in. For couples, you feel like you're having the same fight over and over again, more like roommates than partners or experiencing a life transition (marriage, parenthood, caring for aging parents).

My Background and Approach

My approach is client-centered, strengths-based and grounded in attachment theory. I practice from a trauma informed lens, antiracist perspective and am LGBTQIA+ affirming therapist. I utilize a biopsychosocialspiritual framework to understand individuals from a whole-person perspective and to provide individualized treatment. Rather than a “one size fits all” approach, I tailor treatment based on the needs and preferences of the client while utilizing evidenced-based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Emotionally-Focused Therapy, and Gottman Couples Therapy (level 1 and 2 trained). My style of therapy is a combination of providing psychoeducation, processing and exploring emotions and relational patterns, practical coping skills that you can utilize outside of the session, and of course, the space to process past experiences and current stressors.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

I believe that a safe, non-judgmental environment in which individuals can experience truly feeling seen, heard, and understood can bring forth the human potential for healing, change, and growth. I believe that all humans have the capacity for growth and change. I think that we develop mental health issues because of both nature (genetics) and nurture (your environment, behaviors modeled to you), and that even when behaviors are "bad", we engage in them because they serve some purpose at some point in our lives. I believe that Black lives matter, in land back, and women's, immigrant's, and LGBTQ+ rights. I am committed to continuing to examine my biases and impact of my privilege.
