The only constant in life is change. We are continuously moving through various life transitions. Aging, developing a professional identity, adjusting to parenthood or an empty nest, are common transitions that require an adjustment period. I have helped counsel many individuals on how to manage the feeling that come up when change is inevitable. You don't have to do it alone.

As a first generation immigrant I understand the unique challenges individuals face when it comes to assimilating to the dominant culture while also maintaining a sense of belonging to your country of origin. I have worked extensively with youth and their families around issues of honoring where they have come from while navigating the ideals of a capitalist and individualistic society.

Life begins in your grandmother's womb. You carry with you the past experiences both good and bad of both your mother and grandmother. You cannot address your current issues without examining the past. By tracing our roots and past traumas we gain a deeper sense of why we are who we are today. I invite my clients to explore what feels uncomfortable so that you have the power to pause the effects of intergenerational trauma from moving forward.

Psychodynamic therapy offers individuals an inner exploration of how they handle conflict and relationships and develop a sense of worth. If you have tried to find balance and happiness and haven’t achieved lasting results, psychodynamic therapy can lead to long term change, first by finding the source of your problems and then by gaining an awareness of how not to repeat the past in the present.

Attachment theory examines an individual's relationships with early caregivers. Our earliest experiences have a lasting impact on how we get along with others in our day-to-day lives. By using attachment theory in my practice, I am able to get a more in depth understanding of how your past has impacted who you are today.
