I have worked mostly in our depression/mood disorder programs at Rogers and feel confident in treating anything within that realm. Depression can present in so many different ways and is on a wide spectrum of severity.

Anxiety is sometimes a good thing! Sometimes it's more important to re-direct it to a place where it can be beneficial instead of hurtful. Is anxiety impacting your daily functioning? If so, allow me to help you identify triggers that may be coming up for you and how we can best tackle them together.

While I worked at Rogers, I have treated any anxiety/OCD presenting symptoms, diagnoses or patterns with utilizing exposures. This allows my patients to decrease their overall anxiety levels by repetitively exposing themselves to something that makes them anxious, which will then decrease that anxiety level over time.

I utilize DBT in many mood-related disorders. DBT can be useful when discussing interpersonal relationships, mindfulness skills, emotional regulation, and distorted thought patterns. By utilizing DBT as a clinician, I can help a client better understand their thought patterns and identify areas that could use more support while giving you the tools to go out and use them on your own.

CBT is a very commonly used modality for therapists. It provides a baseline knowledge to the connection between our thoughts, feelings and behaviors. However, we are only in control of our behaviors. As a therapist, I help clients understand what is in their control versus out of our control and how we can utilize a change in behavior to stop the harmful cycle between our thoughts and emotions.

Neurodiversity can be confusing to understand. I currently am working towards becoming an ADHD certified professional and have a passion for working with neurodiverse clients. There are many interventions that can be implemented with ADHD outside of medications to alleviate the difficulty that ADHD can cause in completing tasks. My approach with treating any neurodiverse client is to provide education on how your brain processes things, followed by tools you can utilize in your daily life.
