I am an internationally sought out expert in perinatal mental health, including postpartum depression and anxiety, mood and anxiety disorders during pregnancy/TTC, perinatal loss, including infertility, miscarriage, abortion, stillbirth and pregnancy after loss. I work with women, men, and relationships on making the transition to parenting. I am a trainer on PMADs, and offer an online Fourth Trimester school featuring a self-paced course focused on prevention: "Prevent Postpartum Depression."

I find it an honor to hold space for you as you navigate changes and transitions in your life. I have extensive experience working with young adults and students, having worked the last dozen years in a community college mental health counseling center. I have used MI since 2003 and enjoy being an MI trainer. I find it a very powerful way to help my clients make the changes they want to make.

IPT is one of the two evidenced-based approaches shown to treat perinatal mood and anxieties disorders. Using IPT allows us to focus on 1. role transitions, 2. grief/loss, and 3. interpersonal conflict. It takes into consideration your attachment style and is respectful of your wishes.

Integrative therapy is basically a way of saying that I will draw upon many modalities. I will take into consideration your unique experiences, past therapy, and preferences. We may use CBT to fill in any gaps in knowledge, practice mindfulness to help with self-soothing and self-compassion, or use Motivational Interviewing to boost the likelihood of you sticking to your goals.

Perinatal loss is one of the most isolating griefs. We call it a "disenfranchised grief" as many times it is kept secret, isolating you from potential support. And even when others know, they may not know what to say to comfort you. When someone losses a grandparent, for example, there are cultural and religious rituals that bring closure. To further complicate, your partner may be grieving in a very different way. I consider it a privilege to hold space for your reproductive story.
