Sex Addiction Test Clinical Framework

This Sex Addiction Test draws on the ICD-11 framework for compulsive sexual behavior disorder (CSBD) and research on problematic pornography use. It focuses on loss of control, interference with daily life, repeated unsuccessful attempts to cut back, and related consequences rather than sexual desire or frequency alone.

CSBD Screening Method and Limitations

Designed for adults, the 20 original items assess control, salience, relapse, consequences, dissatisfaction, coping, duration, impairment, and moral incongruence. The questionnaire is informed by validated CSBD and hypersexuality measures but has not itself been psychometrically validated. It is an educational screening tool, not a diagnosis. Self-report, cultural context, and current circumstances can influence results.

Sexual Behavior Response Privacy

Your personal information and individual responses are never collected. Answers remain on your device. Only the anonymous final score is retained for aggregate statistical analysis used to improve the tool.

Hypersexuality Score Interpretation

Answers are scored from 1 to 5 and summed, with positively worded items reverse-scored. Higher scores indicate more difficulty controlling sexual behavior and more reported consequences; lower scores indicate greater control and less interference. The score is indicative, not diagnostic. If your result raises concerns, a licensed mental health professional can assess the pattern in context.
