Visual Journaling

Open for Enrollment

Visual Journaling is an art-as-therapy class that brings together words, images, and everyday materials to make space for reflection and expression. It welcomes anyone curious about exploring thoughts, emotions, and life experiences creatively. No artistic skill or experience is needed.

Your journal might include collage, sketches, poems, scribbles, lists, hand lettering, stickers, or meaningful scraps of paper. Ann Marie introduces different journal formats, from altering existing books to binding recycled papers into junk journals. Each week offers a new technique and a prompt, followed by time to experiment with guidance and encouragement.

The art-as-therapy emphasis is on the process of making and discovering what emerges. A page can hold feelings that are difficult to name, offer a different perspective, or become a place to pause and notice your experience. You choose how to respond to each prompt and what feels meaningful to explore.

Participants are invited to share their pages with the group, but sharing is always optional. Join for one week or return over time to develop a creative practice of your own. Bring your curiosity and make room for expression, reflection, and connection.
