About My Clients
I welcome adults and teens navigating emotions, identity, relationships, grief, and life changes. I especially enjoy working with neurodivergent adults seeking to understand themselves, express their needs, and feel more connected. You might be adjusting to a new chapter, questioning old expectations, or finding that words alone don't capture your experience. Artmaking and conversation offer space to explore what matters to you. No artistic experience is needed.
My Background and Approach
I hold a master's in Clinical Mental Health Counseling: Art Therapy and the ATR-P credential, and practice under ongoing clinical supervision. Artmaking offers expression within and beyond words, with no artistic skill or training needed. It can give powerful feelings a containing form, creating distance and room for reflection. Art therapy's integrative nature invites mindfulness and body awareness in ways that respect your sensory needs and pace. My neurodiversity-affirming, trauma-informed approach draws on Relational-Cultural Theory (RCT) for connection and belonging, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) for values-guided choices, and Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) for coping and emotional regulation. My CAMS training supports collaborative work with suicidal thoughts. An existential lens welcomes questions of identity, meaning, and change. Cultural humility keeps me curious about your experiences as we explore what feels meaningful and useful to you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe curiosity and creativity can help us keep growing throughout our lives. I came to art therapy later in life, after years as an early childhood educator and finding comfort and meaning in making art. I'm neurodivergent, wear hearing aids and glasses, and am navigating aging myself. These experiences shape my curiosity about how we adapt, ask for what we need, and make room for who we're becoming. For me, cultural humility means listening with curiosity, questioning my assumptions, and staying open to learning. It means I respect all individuals' expertise in their own experience. My life includes a blended family with people and pets. I'm from Atlanta, spent a decade outside the US, but this is the place I know best. I enjoy creative expression of all kinds. I love both traveling and staying close to home with my friends and family.
