This group is designed for adults who recognize patterns of fawning, people-pleasing, over-functioning, difficulty setting boundaries, or codependency in their relationships. It may be helpful for individuals who frequently prioritize others’ needs over their own, struggle with guilt when saying no, fear conflict or rejection, or have difficulty identifying and expressing their own wants and needs.
This is a 9-week therapeutic book study, with each session lasting 75 minutes. Participants will use a selected therapeutic book as a guide for learning, reflection, and discussion. Sessions will combine discussion of the assigned material with guided reflection, therapeutic education, and opportunities to explore how these patterns show up in participants’ lives and relationships. The group will provide a supportive, respectful environment for learning from both the material and shared experiences. Sessions are $75 per session, and may be run through insurance, depending on the allowances of each individual's insurnace plan.
The group’s objectives are to help participants better understand fawning and codependent patterns, recognize the beliefs and experiences that contribute to people-pleasing, and develop greater awareness of their own emotions, needs, values, and boundaries. Participants will explore healthier ways of responding to conflict, discomfort, and relational expectations while practicing self-trust, assertiveness, and reciprocal relationship skills. The overall goal is to support participants in developing relationships that allow them to care for others without abandoning themselves in the process.
