About My Clients
Does your life feel heavy and overwhelming at times? Waking up angry or anxious with no clear reason why? Having issues connecting with your family, others or yourself? Experiencing the many stressors and situations of life can become exhausting when you aren't properly supported. I would like to help you expand your awareness of what is affecting you, so you can become a more supported and resourced you, while learning to cope using healthy strategies and tools that best fit your lifestyle.
My Background and Approach
My goal is to be present with you, help you navigate challenges, changes and wade the waves of life you are facing while being grounded. I am here to help you process thoughts, feelings and behaviors for a more fulfilling life. I use a multi-systemic approach of theories, including client-centered therapy, expressive arts and narrative therapy interventions. I have worked with clients experiencing crisis, depression, anxiety, suicidal thoughts, familial issues, emotional awareness, trauma, and much more. I often use expressive arts therapy in my practice. In our first few sessions we'll explore what brought you here, and what is the most appropriate way to help you process it. With expressive arts, we utilize externalization so that our thoughts and/or issues can be viewed outside of the brain, and looked at or taken apart.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe in support for all people, not just some. Humans are complex and we need to be seen authentically, in order to grow and unlearn patterns of being, that may have once served to protect us. I enjoy meeting clients where they are because truly, clients are the expert of their own experiences. I am very passionate about social justice, self advocacy and empowering others to thrive in whatever context that looks like for them. I believe that we all just want to be seen, considered, validated and know that someone cares.
