About My Clients
The process of psychotherapy can elicit excitement as well as anxiety-provoking feelings as you begin to make active changes in your life. Therefore, we will collaboratively create a therapeutic environment that allows you to comfortably talk about the therapy process, including the goals you set for yourself, and, among other things, lessen any possible feelings of stuckness.
My Background and Approach
I hold an integrative and holistic theoretical orientation. This means I consider the individuals’ contextual setting, interpersonal and intrapersonal interactions, and the interconnectedness of physiological and psychological well-being (e.g., the relationship between anxiety and irritable bowel syndrome). I aim to create a space where, to an extent, you no longer feel isolated or burdened with concerns and intrusive thoughts. Some of the theories and techniques I intend to use in my approach comprise psychoanalytic, relational psychodynamic, and multicultural perspectives, along with evidence-based approaches such as cognitive-behavioral therapy. Although there are limitations to specific tools and theories in the psychological field, I believe my observations and experiences with individuals over their life course allowed me to incorporate the tools I learned and continue to practice with while keeping in mind the differences and similarities we share as individuals.
