About My Clients
I support LGBTQ+ adults, teens and parents of LGBTQ+ kids through the coming out process. I love working with Queer folks because I know how complicated and overwhelming coming out can be AND how rewarding it can feel to find and accept your truest self. I love providing space for parents of LGBTQ+ kids to process their own questions and feelings while supporting their child in their coming out journey.
My Background and Approach
As a Queer individual myself, I know firsthand the joys and difficulties of navigating LGBTQ+ life right now. I grew up in Austin, Texas, where, much like in Charlotte, I was surrounded by a thin bubble of relative acceptance. That bubble, however, does not always include some of our dearest family members and friends, and that hurts. That bubble does not always include ourselves, either, in the ways that heteronormativity, homophobia and transphobia have been societally baked in to our psyches. I love creating a safe space for my clients to process, explore and accept their innermost thoughts and feelings and supporting them as they navigate the challenges of their lives and environments. I use a humanistic approach, drawing from attachment theory, internal family systems and radical self-acceptance.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I am openly Queer and passionate about activism in my community. I believe strongly in providing Queer and trans-affirming, anti-racist, trauma-informed, disability-friendly, body-liberationist, sex positive, sensory-friendly, CNM-affirming (consensually non-monogamous) care for all my clients. I love creative arts, crafts, theatre and hanging out with my wife and our two cats.
