About My Clients
After trauma or abuse, it can be hard to feel safe in relationships, know where your boundaries are or stop questioning your reactions. I work with adults and couples, with particular experience supporting women affected by sexual assault, childhood abuse and domestic violence. We can look at how those experiences are affecting you now and what you need to move forward. To work with me, book through my website.
My Background and Approach
My style is warm, thoughtful and honest. I’ll give you space to process what happened without judgment, but I won’t only sit back and listen. I’ll help you notice patterns, explain why certain reactions may be showing up and gently challenge you when it could help. I use trauma-focused care alongside CBT, CPT, DBT and attachment-based therapy. We may work on handling emotions that feel overwhelming, looking at beliefs about yourself that developed after abuse or understanding how the past is affecting your relationships now. When working with couples, I may also use Emotionally Focused Therapy to help us understand the patterns between you. We’ll adapt the work to your needs, background and what feels most important to you.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
My own experience with trauma helped lead me to this work. I know healing is rarely as simple as putting the past behind you. What happened may still affect your relationships, emotions and the way you see yourself, even years later. Therapy can give you somewhere to understand those effects and decide what you want for your life now. As a Black and Latina therapist, I pay attention to how culture, racism and identity can shape trauma, family relationships and the experience of asking for help. I also offer affirming support to LGBTQ+ clients and people whose experiences have not always been understood in therapy. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time in nature, exploring new hobbies and finding joy in small everyday moments.
