About My Clients
My ideal patient has the openness and willingness to look at their own role and responsibility in all of the situations and relationships they are in. If you enjoy the ongoing process of self-improvement and understanding yourself (thoughts, feelings, coping skills, values, interpersonal dynamics, etc.), we may be a good fit. Many of my patients have reported increased self awareness, the ability to see patterns and warning signs, and improved ability to navigate situations more effectively.
My Background and Approach
I am a licensed psychotherapist and a professor of Psychology and Education at Teachers College, Columbia University. She has a dynamic and practical style when working with patients and enjoys providing both tangible insights and skills for patients to make ongoing, positive progress.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
As a retired competitive athlete, coach, and performance specialist working with elite athletes, I believe in learning from both my wins and losses in order to get up and move up in life. If we decide to work together, I want you to know that it can be challenging at times, but with patience, steady treatment, and self-reflection, you will gain new insight and coping skills; living with joy and fulfillment is possible.
