Licensed Marriage & Family Therapist in Eugene, OR
Life is full of transitions, from shifts in one's gender, relationship, career, geographical moves, births, deaths, and more. I can help support clients with these changes, whether they are planned or unplanned, welcome and wanted or something that is happening that feels outside of one's choice or control.
As with gender identity, I have personal experience navigating polyamory. I don't have a one-size-fits-all approach, but I am comfortable with and accepting of polyamorous and open relationships, and can work with individuals, couples, and other relationship configurations to support people navigating relationships outside the box.
As someone who has grappled with and accepted their own gender identity, including choosing to medically transition, I have personal experience that aids in my expertise. I approach gender exploration with curiosity, openness, and non-judgment. I am here to help you understand yourself through compassionate listening and asking questions. Alternatively, perhaps you already have a solid understanding of your gender, but simply prefer to work with a therapist who has experience with trans clients.
We are formed in relationships. Using the therapeutic relationship as a tool is a powerful way to integrate theory into practice. Slowing down and noticing the process of therapy can have a profound impact.
We inhabit the world in bodies. Emotions are also called "feelings" because before we have language, we feel our feelings in our bodies as sensation. Tuning into our bodies can give us so much wisdom and insight.
Our relationships are so important in shaping our lives. The more we understand about our attachment style and how to navigate our relationships, the more we equip ourselves to lead fulfilling lives.
