Accepting Clients

I work with people who are ready to stop managing their symptoms and start transforming through what those symptoms are trying to say.

Clinical Social Worker in Carmichael, CA

About My Clients

My clients are usually high-functioning and outwardly successful — professionals, executives, therapists, physicians, veterinarians — who sense something essential is missing. Many carry chronic stress, burnout, or symptoms doctors can't explain. Others are couples caught in a recurring conflict, or neurodivergent adults whose inner world runs against convention. What they share is readiness to move past symptom relief toward real understanding.

My Background and Approach

I came to depth psychology through my own search for something real — therapy that helped me understand why I was struggling, not just manage the symptoms. What I found in Jung's work changed how I think about the psyche entirely: the unconscious isn't a warehouse of old problems, but an active, intelligent part of you that's always trying to move you somewhere. I hold a PhD in Depth Psychology from Pacifica Graduate Institute, where I also teach, and I've spent the last decade working at the intersection of Jungian psychology, somatic experience, and the symbolic dimensions of the psyche. My approach doesn't follow a fixed protocol — we work with what's actually present: dreams, patterns, physical symptoms, the material your conscious mind hasn't yet caught up to. The goal isn't to make you more functional. It's to help you become genuinely whole, including the parts you've learned to keep out of view.

My Personal Beliefs and Interests

Before becoming a therapist I was a professional musician — a life I still live alongside this one. I think there's something musicians and depth psychologists have in common: both are trying to give form to things that don't have words yet. I believe the psyche has its own intelligence and direction, and that most suffering is the psyche's attempt to correct something the conscious mind has gotten wrong. I don't think the goal of this work is to become a better-behaved version of yourself. It's to become whole — including the parts you've spent years keeping out of view. I show up informally — you're more likely to find me in a t-shirt than a blazer — because I don't think the work happens if either of us are performing. I'm drawn to old stories that still explain new problems: myth, archetype, and the strange ways a life can rhyme with something much older than itself.
