Trying to push down all those thoughts and feelings can be like trying to push down a beachball under water. Eventually it gets to be really tiring and as soon as you let your guard down, anxiety rushes up and hits you in the face. There's a different way to deal with stress and anxiety. I've spent several years developing ways to help men confront their stress and live more meaningful lives.
Here's what I learned: Courage does not mean fighting your feelings, it means facing them, and that's where I come in. We work together to build treatment goals, plan for how to meet those goals, and practice different skills to help you achieve them. This approach isn't just "talk therapy," it's action-oriented. This means we spend a lot of time focused on practicing new ways to deal with thoughts and feelings. I then encourage you to use these skills in your own life between sessions. These skills aim to loosen the chains of anxiety so you can start living the kind of life you want to live.
