After working in the addiction field for the past ten years I feel confident in saying that while it is possible to work through addiction on your own, its a hell of a lot easier with support. Regardless of whether the addiction is alcohol, porn, substances, relationships or some other activity; they all have the commonality of this empty feeling inside that doesn't seem to ever be consistently satisfied. I help my clients work out how to fill their life with meaning, rather than fueling vices.

Marriages/domestic partnerships often start with these beautiful impulsive feelings that gradually transform into beautiful intentional choices of how we feel about a person(s) that is special to us. Sometimes ineffective communication, a breach in trust, or new discoveries about ourselves, can lead to those feelings being tainted or questioned. I help individuals in relationships improve their communication so they can be genuine and safe with their person(s).

Exploring sexual concerns can often times carry feelings of shame, embarrassment, or frustration; especially with todays cultural and political climate. I work to create a space where we can feel comfortable to talk about all sexual topics, whether it be about porn use, intimacy or erectile dysfunction, or even just wanting a space to explore your fetish/kink interests in safety. Every aspect of you deserves to feel respected (or not if that's your thing).

My past ten years of mental health work have had me working with addiction, with emotional regulation disorders, with depression and anxiety, and every other facet of the human condition. They all have a central piece that always comes into play. Our relationships with each other, but especially our relationships with the ones that mean the most to us. My work with couples has been a success because we ensure that we focus on what actually matters to each other, and practice healthy love.

My approach to Sex Therapy is always started with helping the client build a comfort with each other and with themselves on the topic of sexuality. Conversations are frank and genuine, we don't parse words or need to feel shameful of what our internet history shows. I aim to help my clients build a healthy relationship with their sexuality where they can feel comfortable in their own skin as well as with others consentually and respectfully.

My approach to Addiction Counseling has a strong basis in strength based therapy, the AA 12 Steps, Existential work, plenty of psychoeducation and a whole lot of being genuine and honest with ourselves and each other. Addiction is an awful disease but it thrives most when kept in the dark. I aim to help clients shine a light on what their unhealthy behaviors are and replace them with ones that will help them live a healthier life and have more stable relationships.
