About My Clients
Have you ever wondered what is holding you back from your true potential? Do you have this nagging thought, idea, or feeling that something is off, but don't know why? Do you have a pattern, habit, impulse, or compulsion to something and don't know how to free yourself from it? These things can be overwhelming, even too much of a burden at times. I don't want these things to be a burden or a weight on you any longer. Come to a therapist that has understanding and empathy for those issues.
My Background and Approach
I went to Pacific Oaks College in Pasadena for Master of Marriage and Family Therapy, with the concentration in Trauma Studies. I subsequently teach in the same program I was taught in. The Trauma studies concentration helps to better understand the clients and populations that I serve. I am continually taking trainings, courses, or teaching classes, to help better refine and hone, the skills and interventions that I use. My approach is that I am learning and growing with my clients. I cannot learn about my clients without their knowledge of their life. Most of the interventions or skills I teach my clients, I have found useful or need to hear myself. I love to learn and want to learn and grow with my clients.
My Personal Beliefs and Interests
I believe that every client holds their truth to their own story. And it is an honor and privilege to share in that story with my client. I believe to respect, empathize, understand, and value in every clients journey, story, or stage they are in. I do this with every client no matter the background. I value every background a client may have. I am a social justice informed therapist who strives to fight for people (and my clients) that are on the margins of society. Through my practice I have already worked with racially diverse clients, people on the LGBTQIA+ community, homeless and incarcerated, undocumented populations.
